The Chicken Pen

Well as promised here are some pictures of the chicken pen: (Now we do let them roam free occasionally) UPDATE: We are letting them out during the days now and they voluntarily go back here to roost. I love having chickens. Truth: If you let chickens free range = more egg production & healthier eggs.

Right in the middle on the side facing us there is a little bow in the fencing that is our door to open and the chickens climb in/out of it.
Now we're looking at the inside of the pen. The chickens water is on the bottom shelf. They walk up the stairs to their coops covered in hay. The door for them to fly out is now on our left.
This is the backside of where the chickens roost/sleep. The long handles of wood are for lifting the top to check for eggs.

This picture is what it looks like when the boards are raised to look for eggs. The boards are long enough for good leverage for children to check for eggs. If you look at the bottom you will see fencing in the middle. This is just to make it easy to pour fresh water in for the chickens.
Also, attached to the bottom boards of the chicken pen is a sturdy rope (you can't see it in the picture). This rope is used to attach to our 4 wheeler and move the pen anywhere we want.
