Azure March Order

I would give you a picture to look at BUT the camera is on a fishing trip.

For March we \ordered:

2- 50lb bags of Organic Hard Red Wheat

1- 5lb bag Organic Flax Seed

approximately 9 lbs of Organic Mangos (that are VERY good!)

25lbs of Organic Fuji Apples

New Spring 2011 Catalog

2oz Stevia Sweet Leaf Clear Liquid

Amazingly enough my order was all under $100!

Note: All my mangos were ripe so we ate a few and freezed the rest. My plan now is to see about making a granola cereal mix with my flax seeds and wheat. And of course make bread.

A Little about Azure Standard

Here are some little know facts about Azure Standard:

Azure Standard: A food delivery service specializing in offering GREAT, organic and natural products. They have great prices that are usually cheaper than regular, non-organic food. I am very pleased at the quality of stuff that I get from Azure. Go here to read more about Azure and what they do. They have drop zones too.

Drop Zones: The terms "drop", "drop points, or "drop zones" are one in the same. These are the places where Azure, on their delivery routes, delivers to places. You meet their truck, unload your goodies, and go home. Yep! It's that easy. And you squeal with delight on the way home for all of the great buys you just bought. Where exactly do they deliver?

Delivery: Azure delivers to these states right now: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington and Wyoming!  To see where exactly they deliver and if you are close to a drop zone go on over here.

They deliver once a month. I place my order Tuesday and pick it up the following Wednesday. But every route is different so don't forget to look at the Schedule of Deliveries. Azure is expanding as they can so to see if you can schedule a drop zone near you give them a holler. What can't I see their prices?

Prices: If you are trying to look at their prices and can't see them, that is because you have to set up an account first. Then they will give you your own account number. Are there any hidden fees? No. But some states do have a small delivery fee added to their total. Like mine. But I don't mind because I would spend that much in gas anyways to go get food that is of less quality.

Minimum Order: Yes…if you’re right along the truck route, there is a minimum $550 order…but that’s total, for everyone who is ordering.  If you get a few families involved, your minimum is met pretty easily.

Your individual order must also be at least $50.  If your order is under that amount, just combine it with a friend.

Getting Started: Here is a list of their publications. If you look under their Schedule of Deliveries and Catalog you can also download them for quicker access.

What else am I forgetting? Well, if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment or ask Azure. Hope I was able to clear up a few things for you at least.

Azure Standard Feburary Groceries

This is my first purchase from Azure Standard and just look at all the great stuff I got. (I may have went overboard just a little...okay maybe a lot but we will use all of it!)

(From Left to Right: 1 Box Alphabet Pasta, 2 lb bag of Sea Salt, Dried Cherries, 1 lb bag of Baby Carrots, 3 Heads of Broccoli, 1 Gallon of Raw Clover Honey, 3 Avocados, 5 lbs Raw White Cheddar, 12 cans Organic Pear Slices, Sucuant, Raw Blue Agave Nectar, 1 Gallon Coconut Oil, and Box of Pumpkin Granola. The Yellow box to the left with fruit on it is 20 lbs of Fuji Apples and the big orange bag behind the Broccoli is 25 lbs of Grade B (Juicing) Carrots.

These are my grains and beans: 2 lbs of Long Grain Brown Rice, Organic Quinoa, 5lbs of each: Great Northern Bean, Pinto Bean, Black Bean (under black bean is also 5 lbs Organic Rolled Oats), Garbanzo Beans, White Beans, and Red Kidney Beans.

These fruits came individually in there own boxes. I put them into freezer bags to have more flexibility in my freezer. We have from left to right: 8 lbs frozen Blueberries, 10 lbs frozen Strawberries, and 10lbs frozen Blackberries. (Now not all the 8 lbs of blueberries are there. We had to munch on some while putting them up.)

I got SO many great deals.  I got 25 lbs of organic carrots for $18.70, 20 lbs of organic fuji apples for $21.30, 5 lbs of organic rolled oats for $4.50. All in all I think I got a great deal!

I got the next two months (March/April) sales flyer with my order. I'll try to review it to let you guys know what sales they have going. Be sure to check back with me!
